The full form of CSIR is " Council of Scientific and Industrial Research " which was established by Government of India in September 1942 as the largest research and development organisation in India. Its main Head Center is in New Delhi and its President is Prime Minister of India .

Developed First Indian Tractor Swaraj in 1961.

Developed India's first synthetic drug " Methaqualone " in 1950

Developed India's first 14 seater Plane " Saras "

Invented first family planning Pill " Saheli " and non-steroidal herbal pill for asthma known as " Asmon "

Designed first Indian Parallel Processing Computer known as " Flosolver "

Completed the Sequence of Human Genome in 2009

Challenged the use of Turmeric ( Haldi ) and Neem ( Azadirachta Indica ) as a Insecticide for the grant of patient in US.

The first breakthrough of Flowering of Bamboo within week as against 20 years of natural process.
