What is the Story Behind the Holi :
Holi is the Hindu Festivall with legends associated with it. The foremost is the legend of demon King Hiranyakashyap who demanded everybody in his kingdom to worship him but his devout son, Prahlad became a follower of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashyap wanted his son to be slayed.The Lord Vishnu save his follower Prahlad from every attempt of his father and kill the Hiranyakashyap.

In Indian Culture The Lord Vishnu is a symbolic legend for celebrating indian festivals and for holi also the lord Vishnu is a symbolic sign for her follower Praladh as a son of King Hiranyakashipu.According to Bhagavata Purana the king Hiranyakashipu wants to kill his son Praladh as he was the follower of Lord Vishnu which was not right from kings site of view . The Lord Vishnu Killed the King and save his follower . So, from this point of view Lord Vishnu is the Legend of holi festival.
The Lord Krishna is also symbolic legend of holi festival.In the Brag Region of India where the Lord Krishna grew up this festival is celebrated untill Rang Panchmi in the memory of Lord Krishna and Radha. This festival is also called the symbol of love as the lord Krishna and Radha .
In India people play Radha and Krishna Role to celebrate their festival in a better way and thus this festival shows that life is full of color and love throughout this festival.
Among other Lords the Lord Rati (Kamadeva's Wife ) also a legend of this festival as Rati And Lod Shiva's Wife Parvati performs her own meditative asceticism for forty days to happy the Lord Shiva to come back from his meditation. So, this is also a symbol of Legency for this festival.
